Creating Positive Change In Your Life

Many people start off the new year full of good intentions and resolutions but quickly fall off the path to fulfillment of these intentions.  Here are a few steps you can take to effect positive change in your life and in yourself.

*  Be specific and make sure that  your goal is measurable.  A specific target gives  you a better finish line to focus on to achieve  your goals.

*  Breakdown larger goals into smaller more achievable ones and celebrate each small success. This positive encouragement gives one a potent attitude of achievement and an “I can do it!” atttidude which is important for success.

*  Tell others your plans and write them down for yourself.  Writing something down gives form to your intentions and with form comes achievement.  Telling others instills a sense of accountability to achieve the goal you’ve set for  yourself.

*  Establish a positive, personal value in achieving your goal.  I like to say – find out your ‘why’, what motivates you and encourages  you to reach for this goal?

*  Create a support system for yourself who will encourage you in times of uncertainty and who will celebrate your successes with you.

*  Minimize your chance of failure by limiting your exposure to high risk situations that may deter you from your path.

*  Ups and downs are normal in the process of achieving your goals.  Be sure to track your progress and celebrate success!
